Signature: “Louis Kronberg” 3¾x2¼ white card dated in his handwriting as well. Louis
Kronberg (1872-1965) was a prominent American figure painter whose most well-known
works include Behind the Footlightsand The Pink Sash. Many of his paintings feature scenes
of the preparation and performance of ballet dancers, demonstrating their flexibility in front of
crowds or getting ready for a show. He studied at various art schools, including the Boston
Museum School, the Art Students' League in New York, and the Académie Julian from
1894-1896 in Paris, France. Worn on verso. Toned. Otherwise, fine condition.
