Check no. 3730 drawn from the account of Louis Lewyn Productions at Bank of America in Culver City, California. Payable for $14.01 to So. Cal. Telephone Co. Louis Lewyn(1891-1969) was a famous Hollywood producer and director who was active from the 1920s through the mid-1940s. Credited with over 90 works, he was responsible for producing the Hollywood on Parade programs during the early 1930s. A Houston-native, Lewyn earned a name in Hollywood by producing the documentary series Screen Snapshots during the early 20s. He was married to actress Marion Mack with whom he appeared in her most famous film, The General (1926). Bank cancellation holes punched through center, not affecting signature. Perforated edges. Fine condition.
