The singer signs a 6-month contract for weekly appearances on ABC-Radio's Hires Sunday Evening Party.
Contract signed three times: "Louise Carlyle", 3 pages, 8½x14. New York, New York, contract dated 1945 December 19, but she signs on December 20. Carlyle is to be paid $300 per broadcast for an appearance as co-soloist on The Hires Sunday Evening Party, weekly from January 20 to July 20, 1946. She has signed a second time on Appendix A, further stipulating requirements of her performances, allowing the network to change the time of broadcast, and also granting ABC an option to renew the contract. The third signature, dated June 21, 1946, signs her acceptance of a 52-week extension of the contract, at an increased salary of $400 per show. Accompanied by unsigned telegrams related to the documents. Louise Carlyle, born Louise Gantose, was the sister of singer and bandleader Russ Carlyle, When her brother was drafted in 1943, Louise took over his band for the duration. Her singing talents were displayed on radio programs of the 1940s, and in the stage musical (and cast album) Of Thee I Sing (1952). Creased and toned. Staple holes in left margin. Corners worn.
