Photograph inscribed and signed: "To Mary Naylor/with kindest regards/Sincerely yours -/Louise Homer/May 26 - 1939". Sepia, 8x10. Louise Homer (1871-1947), a renowned contralto performed with the Metropolitan Opera (1900-1919, 1927-1930). She also performed and recorded light opera and popular music. Her daughter Anne authored a biography, Louise Homer and the Golden Age of Opera (1974). Mary Naylor (b. 1926), the recipient, was a popular English stage and radio entertainer while still in her teens, and was a favorite pin-up of British troops in World War II. She gave many performances at the London Palladium, where she will appear with her American husband, Jack Kodell, in a special show in September 2011. Five pinhead sized spots in lower left corner. Stray ink mark near right edge. Otherwise, fine condition.
