British actor Louise Jameson wrote this letter to a museum to thank them for including her in a display. She is best known for playing Leela on Doctor Who and Rosa di Marco in Eastenders, though she says in this letter that her favorite role was Blanche Simmons, "'The tart with the heart of gold'", on Tenko.
Autograph letter signed "Louise Jameson". 1 page, 5¾x8¼. Addressed to the American Museum of Historical Documents. In full: "I feel very honuored to have been asked to write to you for this display. Thank you. My favourite part of all time was Blanche in the T.V. series TENKO. 'The tart with the heart of gold' She was so tough and so vulnerable- as all are really......! My very best wishes". British actress Jameson, born in 1951, is probably best known as leather-clad barbarian Leela of the Sevateem, a companion of the fourth Doctor (Tom Baker) in Doctor Who (1977-1978) and as Rosa di Marco in Eastenders (1998-2000). She has appeared in over 30 movies and TV shows since 1971, with recurring roles as Tania Braithwaite on The Omega Factor (1979), The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole Aged 13 3/4 (1985-1987), Bergerac (1985-1990), Rides (1992-1993), River City (2008), and her personal favorite, Blanche Simmons in Tenko (1981-1982). Jameson has also appeared on stage, including three years with the Royal Shakespeare Company. Lightly creased and bowed. Random ink stains. Otherwise in fine condition.
