Malcolm King” in black ink, 1p, 8½x11. No place, 1921 January 13. On official letterhead of the British Embassy, Office of Naval Attaché. Addressed to “Mrs. Jonathan Mayhew Wainwright/ 912 Clay Avenue/ Scranton, Pa.”. Written to: "Dear Mrs. Wainwright”. In full:As Captain Blake is still absent from Washington, I am acknowledging your card to him dated January 11th. The latest information we have regarding the movements of Captain Blake is that he will leave Central America about January 17th, and will therefore probably not/arrive here before the end of the month, when your letters will be brought to his attention./ Yours very truly". Malcolm E.N. King was an assistant naval attaché working for the British embassy in the early part of the 20th century. One vertical and one horizontal mailing fold. Lightly toned. One small, dark stain toward the bottom left edge. Otherwise, fine condition.
