In full: "Receipt is acknowledged of your letter dated October 11, 1966, requesting a personally autographed photograph. Enclosed herewith is the photograph you requested for your collection." Photo not present. Lieutenant General Watson had commanded artillery in the South Pacific (1944-1945) and Korea (1953-1954). After service in Germany, he rose to command of Patton's old unit, the Third Army (1963-1964) and of IX Corps (1964-1966). Upon retirement, Watson became Governor of the U.S. Soldiers Home. Slightly creased. File nicks at blank right margin. Fine condition.
