"Mac" McKnight, Jr. (b. 1929) led signal corps battalions in Korea, Vietnam and Europe. He was Commandant of the US Army Signal Center and School before finishing his career as Director of Command, Control and Communication Systems for the Joint Chiefs of Staff, retiring as a Lieutenant General. Winner of West Point's Distinguished Graduate Award in 2008, he titled his 2013 autobiography From Pigeons to Tweets. He continues to write a blog for the Huffington Post, filled with insightful and often iconoclastic comment on topics from post-traumatic stress disorder to cyber-war.
