LIEUTENANT GENERAL HAROLD R. AARON
The accomplished Army General signs this typed letter to a Mr. Pruett
and his Special Education class
Typed letter signed: "Harold R. Aaron" as Major
General, 1p, 7x8½. No place, October 1, 1973. To: "Dear Mr.
Pruett" in full: "Please find inclosed [sic] a copy of an
autographed picture [not included] for your bulletin board and for the
benefit of your handicapped student class. It is a pleasure to be of assistance
to you. Very truly yours." Lieutenant General Harold R. Aaron
(1924-1980) was Assistant Army Chief of Staff for Intelligence from
1973-1977. As a colonel, Aaron served as Commander, 5th Special Forces Group
(Airborne) in Vietnam from June 4, 1968 to May 8, 1969. He later was
promoted to Lieutenant General. In 1988, he was enrolled in the Military
Intelligence Hall of Fame. His awards and distinguishments include; The
Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star with oak leaf cluster, and the Purple Heart.
Ink notes (unknown hand) lightly show through at lower left edge. Otherwise,
