Michel "Mike" Donnet (1917-2013) joined the Belgian Air Force in 1939. He fought the invading Germans in 1940, and was imprisoned for a year. After returning to Belgium, Donnet and a comrade refurbished a damaged aircraft which was under German guard, flew it across the English Channel, and joined the Royal Air Force. He flew over 100 operational missions for the RAF, rising to squadron commander. After the war, he became an important officer in the NATO command, leading the Second Tactical Air Force and retiring with the rank of lieutenant general in 1975. Donnet has also written several books. Additional signer merits further research. Two items.
