LUCILLE "LUCY" BALL, DESI ARNAZ, SR., MARTIN N. LEEDS, and ANDREW G. HICKOX
1955 Notice of a special meeting of the Desilu directors.
Document signed "Desi Arnaz", "Lucille Ball", "Martin N. Leeds" and "Andrew G. Hickox", 1 page, 8 x 9½. Los Angeles, California, 1955 October 17. Notice of a special meeting of the directors of Desilu Productions, Inc. for the purpose of transacting “any and all business that might come before that meeting.” Desilu Productions was one of the most successful entertainment production companies in television history. Ball and Arnaz formed it to produce their comedy series I Love Lucy (1951-1957) after CBS denied Lucy's request for Desi to play the role of her husband. In 1957, Lucy and Desi sold the rerun rights of the show to CBS Films for $5 million. They used the money for Desilu to purchase the RKO motion picture lot and produced such successful shows as Our Miss Brooks, The Danny Thomas Show, Mission: Impossible and Star Trek. In 1960, upon their divorce, they divided Desilu's assets in half; two years later, Lucy bought out Desi for $3 million. Fine condition. Framed to an overall size of 25½ x 24¾. Minor wearing on frame corners.
