Photograph signed: "Sincerely/ Lucy Ann Polk" in black ink. B/w, 8x10. Lucy Ann Polk (1927-2011)was an American jazz and big-band singer, most famously performing with Les Brown and his orchestra in the mid-fifties when the band was at its peak (included performers such as Dave Pell and Don Fagerquist). Polk also made recordings with bands such as Kay Kyser, Tommy Dorsey, and Dave Pell. She received the Downbeat "Best Girl-Singer with Band" award in 1951, 1952, 1953, and 1954. Polk released three solo albums, including Lucky Lucy Ann (1957). Corners rounded. Light surface creases. Ink notes on verso in unknown hand. Otherwise, fine condition.
