Autograph Poem signed: "Lucy Larcom", 2 pages (integral leaf), 5¼x8¼. Her 8-verse poem, "Witch Hazel Nook". Because the death of her father left the family in dire straits, Lucy Larcom (1824-1893) worked in the cotton mills of Lowell, Massachusetts from ages 11 to 21. While working long hours in the mill, Larcom wrote poems about her experiences. She gained a national reputation, with poems published in the leading American magazines. She also edited one journal, Our Young Folks (1866-1873). Her autobiographical A New England Girlhood (1883) remains in print. Normal mailing folds. Lightly creased and toned. Otherwise, fine condition.
