Program of the Miss Milwaukee Pageant 1970, featuring a printed photo of Grenz as the 1969 Queen. LYNN DEE (GRENZ) SNODGRASS, born in Oregon in 1951 but raised in Milwaukee, won the 1969 Miss Milwaukee crown. Returning to Oregon for college, she was crowned Miss Oregon in 1971. As Lynn Snodgrass, she was serving on a local school board when she learned about a school consolidation, which increased class sizes for her daughter. She ran for and won a seat in the Oregon House of Representatives (1994). Rising quickly in the term-limited body, Republican Snodgrass served as Majority Leader (1997-2000) before losing a bid for Oregon Secretary of State in 2000. The social conservative opposed Oregon's decriminalization of marijuana and its "Death with Dignity" law and advocated for the creation of a Christian Heritage Month. She received strong support from the anti-abortion movement and the National Rifle Association. George Sanders, a radio/TV interview host in Los Angeles and later Portland, collected autographs from guests on his show. Surface creases. Corners slightly worn. Slightly toned. Right edge lightly creased. Otherwise, fine condition.
