On a program featuring her as Miss Milwaukee, the future Miss Oregon pens a note to
Portland radio/TV host George Sanders. As Lynn Snodgrass, she became a prominent
Oregon legislator in the 1990s.

DEE (GRENZ) SNODGRASS, born in Oregon in 1951 but raised in Milwaukee, won the
1969 Miss Milwaukee crown. Returning to Oregon for college, she was crowned Miss
Oregon in 1971. As Lynn Snodgrass, she was serving on a local school board when she
learned about a school consolidation, which increased class sizes for her daughter. She ran
for and won a seat in the Oregon House of Representatives (1994). Rising quickly in the
term-limited body, Republican Snodgrass served as Majority Leader (1997-2000) before
losing a bid for Oregon Secretary of State in 2000. The social conservative opposed
Oregon's decriminalization of marijuana and its "Death with Dignity" law and advocated for
the creation of a Christian Heritage Month. She received strong support from the
anti-abortion movement and the National Rifle Association. George Sanders, a radio/TV
interview host in Los Angeles and later Portland, collected autographs from guests on his
