The silent film star is shown wearing a fur coat in this 3½x5½ black and white photograph.
Inscribed Photograph signed: "To Peter from Mabel/Best Wishes", B/w 3½x5½. London-born actress Mabel Poulton (1901-1994) made her film debut starring opposite of Betty Balfour in the 1920 silent Nothing Else Matters. A blonde who usually played feisty or mischievous roles, she gained critical acclaim for her performance in Adrian Brunel's The Constant Nymph (1928). With the advent of sound into films, Poulton's broad Cockney accent was brought to light, this led to her decline as a film star and she retired from the screen before 1940. Slightly worn at edges. Light silvering at dark areas. Otherwise, fine condition.
