Glen Campbell, Lou Rawls, Bobby Goldsboro, Kenny Rogers & the First Edition and Elvis,
who recorded his "A Little Less Conversation" and "In the Ghetto", had his first No. 1 hit
with "Baby Don't Get Hooked on Me" (1972) and also recorded "Stop and Smell the Roses",
a No. 10 pop single, and "I Believe in Music". He also hosted a musical variety show on NBC
from 1974-1976 and appeared on a number of specials. Davis made his film debut in 1979's
North Dallas Forty and was named one of the twelve "Most Promising New Actors of
1979" in John Willis' "Screen World". Davis, who next appeared in Cheaper to Keep Her in
1980, would later star in The Sting II (1983) and Where the Red Fern Grows (2000) and in
several made-for-TV movies. Fine condition.
