In full: "Thanks so much for your letter. Am sending you a photo by
the same mail. Please forgive my tardiness. Have written a book of poetry
which has been published by Coward, McCann and Geoghegan called 'A Day In The
Life.' Ask your bookseller if he has it. Thank you again for watching
Days Of Our Lives. Sincerely". Carey's best known television role was
as Dr. Tom Horton, Chief of Internal Medicine at University Hospital, on the
long-running NBC daytime soap, Days of Our Lives (1965 until his
death). Carey's voice can still be heard on the soap's intro. In 1985, Carey
also made a guest appearance on the TV series, Finder of Lost Loves.
Stage, screen and radio and television actor Macdonald Carey (1913-1994) made
his film debut in 1942, and gave one of his most memorable performances a
year later in Alfred Hitchcock's Shadow of a Doubt (1943). His other
feature films include Wake Island (1942), Streets of Laredo
(1949), The Great Gatsby (1949), John Paul Jones (1959), Tammy
and the Doctor (1963) and American Gigolo (1979). Carey, who made his
television debut in 1950, appeared in a number of early anthologies, starred in
several TV series, miniseries (including 1977's Roots) and made-for-TV
movies and made guest appearances on shows through 1987 (Murder, She
Wrote). Lightly creased. Irregular upper edge. Fine condition.
