Naomi Foner, Maggie Gyllenhaal made her film debut in Waterland
(1992), which was directed by her father and co-starred her younger
brother, actor Jake Gyllenhaal. The siblings would also star together in
A Dangerous Woman (1993), also directed by their father, and
Donnie Darko (2001), and Maggie would star in another feature
film, Homegrown (1998), and three made-for-TV movies
Shattered Minds (1996), The Patron Saint of Liars
(1998) and Resurrection (1999) directed by her father.
Nominated for the Golden Globe for Best Actress - Musical or Comedy for
Secretary (2002), Gyllenhaal has also appeared in such films as
Riding in Cars With Boys (2001), 40 Days and 40 Nights
(2002), Adaptation (2002), Confessions of a Dangerous
Mind (2002) and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). She has also acted
on stage and co-hosted the 2003 Sundance Awards. Slight creases not seen head
