MAI ZETTERLING
The actress signs a card from the Hollywood Cabaret Restaurant in New
York.
Autograph Note signed: "[3 words in Swedish]/and Best Wishes/Mai
Zetterling/Aug. 8. 36", 4x5 card. Printed card from "The Hollywood Cabaret -
Restaurant/New York" used to take questions for "Myrus - The Mental Marvel", who
was appearing there. Printed information on the telepath on verso. Swedish-born
Zetterling (1925-1994) was an accomplished actress and director. After making
her film debut in Torment (1944), she starred in Frieda (1947)
before becoming more widely known to audiences by playing opposite Peter Sellers
in Only Two Can Play (1962). Her documentary, The War Game, won
a prize at the 1963 Venice Film Festival, and she received wide acclaim for
her two feature films, Loving Couples and Night Games, which was
based on her novel. Zetterling continued making occasional film appearances into
the 1990s, most notably in The Witches (1990). This autograph is from
the personal collection of Elsie Myrus, the wife the telepath, who collected the
autographs of celebrities attending her husband's show. Fine
condition.
