Autograph Letter Signed:"Abreau"in iron gall ink.
12½x8¾. Fully Translated in English: "Cobre, May 2, 1900. General Juan
Pablo Cebreca. I have the honor to address you the circular and models attached
with the purpose that the Major State gives me on March 15 of this current year
the status of both civil and military elements corresponding to the V Brigade
and to the Santiago Cavalry Regiment. I will give your scribers the sixty pesos
offered for the inspection of these tasks and the ones of my General Barracks.
Best Regards, Major General." The title of "Major General" was
symbolized by three gold made stars and was required for obtaining the
titles of Chief General, General Lieutenant, Chiefs of Oriental
and Occidental and Chiefs of the Liberation Army. Besides
Abreu, the title was also held by the Presidents of the
Revolutionaries that came up from the Assembles of Jimaguayu in 1895
and Yaya in 1897. Light vertical fold, ½-inch separation at blank middle
verso and 1¼-inch paper loss at blank vertical fold. Adhesive tape affixed at
