War, General Burnside was in command of the Army of the Potomac (1862), later
served Rhode Island as Governor (1866-1869) and U.S. Senator (1875-1881). When
the National Rifle Association was founded in 1871, Burnside became its first
president. Horizontal folds show ½-inch separations (all intact). Paper clip
stain touches 1 word. Pencil notes (unknown hand) at upper left blank corner.
