beneath and on verso of ALS: "J.L. Pruett" requesting an autograph,
Kendrick writes, in part: "Since you are interested in studying
Military History of World War II, I would like to refer you to the recorded
history of Military Medicine in WWII. There are over 30 volumes...Included in the
volumes is one entitled 'Blood Program in World War II' which I edited...."
In 1944, Dr. Douglas B. Kendrick (1907-1994) was ordered to the Pacific
Region where he developed and implemented the use of blood, plasma and albumin
during WWII and Korea. In 1945-1948, he served as personal physician to
General Douglas MacArthur in Japan. Light ink show through. Slightly creased.
