Riggs National Bank, payable to "W.B. Moses and Sons" for $13.75. Brigadier
General Carr was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for gallantry at the
Battle of Pea Ridge, Arkansas, March 7-8, 1862, where he was wounded three
times. He died December 2, 1910, just 2 months after writing this check.
Tiny "PAID" cancellation holes go around signature. Slight ink smudges on "Pay
to" line, but signature in excellent condition. Bank stamp on verso (no show
through). Mid-vertical fold. Fine condition.
