Hand Print signed: "Frederick C. Blesse/10 Victories Korea/334th SQDN 4th GP/December 6, 2002", 7½x10. Tracing of his right hand in black ink. When Frederick C. "Boots" Blesse returned from his second combat tour of the Korean War in 1952, he was the leading US jet ace (with 10 kills). In 1955, he won all six of the Air Force's worldwide fighter gunnery competition events, a feat never equaled. He flew another 156 combat missions over Vietnam and Laos in 1967-78 in the first of his two tours in Southeast Asia. Blesse's book about fighter combat tactics, No Guts, No Glory, is used as a training manual by the Air Force, the Marine Corps, and three foreign air forces. Before his retirement in 1975, he held important staff positions, including weapons systems evaluator for the Secretary of Defense and Air Force Deputy Inspector General. Ink note (unknown hand) on verso. Fine condition
