LANNY ROSS The singer who performed on radio, television, and film signed this contract in agreement with William Morris Agency, Inc. Contract Signed: "Lanny Ross" in blue ink on verso. One page. Text on front and back. 8½x11. Dated July 30, 1946. This agreement with the William Morris Agency makes the talent company the exclusive representative for Lanny Ross in all entertainment business dealings for one year, from 1946-1947. Lanny Ross (1906-1988) began his career in the 1930s as a radio crooner, best known for singing "Moonlight and Roses". Over the next two decades, he would host the NBC radio show, Show Boat, appear on radio and television versions of Your Hit Parade and host his own TV series, The Swift Show (1948). Ross also appeared in several feature films, including College Rhythm (1934), Gulliver's Travels (1939), and Stage Door Canteen (1943). He later hosted an episode of The Bell Telephone Hour in 1962. In the middle of his impressive entertainment industry career, Ross served in the United States Army during WWII, earning the rank of Major. Two holes punched along top edge.
