August 7, 1950, New York City. Malcolm Pearson and Courtney Burr sign an agreement with William P. Nolan of Nolan Brothers contractors to build one set for the play Season in the Sun for September 11, 1950, in the payment amount of $10,000. MALCOLM PEARSON produced his first Broadway play I, Myself in 1934 at the Mansfield Theatre New York City. His next productions were Little Shot (1935), Abide With Me (1935) and Hitch Your Wagon (1937). After taking a decade away from theatre due to World War II, Pearson returned to the stage with Season in the Sun in 1950 (as shown here). His last Broadway production came in 1957 with The Genius and the Goddess. COURTNEY BURR (1891-1961, born Howard Courtney Burr in St. Johns, Kansas) produced numerous plays between 1933 and 1960. Often partnered with producer Malcolm Pearson, his most memorable Broadway productions include Send Me Know Flowers, Season in the Sun, Jane Eyre and The Genius and the Goddess. William P.
