Unsigned Script for the television series Mannix: Episode, "Murder Times Three", dated 21 June 1971, Season 5, Episode 12, aired 1 December 1971.
Blue cover, 61p. 8½x11, typed. Mannix told the story of private detective Joe Mannix who began as a corporate investigator for Intertect and later opened his own agency. A particularly violent program for its day, Mannix ran for 8 seasons-194 episodes. Mike Connors (born 1925) is best known for his role as Joe Mannix for which he was nominated for four Emmys as Best Actor in a Dramatic Series and four Golden Globes, winning in 1970. Although he appeared in films from 1952 (with Joan Crawford in Sudden Fear), Connors found his greatest popularity on the small screen, starring in two series (Tightrope, 1959; Today's F.B.I., 1981), the miniseries War and Remembrance (1988) and a number of made-for-television movies. Gail Fisher (1935-2000) played Peggy Fair, his secretary/assistant from season 2 until the end. Fisher was Miss Black New Jersey and worked as a model while studying acting in New York. She made her television debut in Play of the Week (1960) and was the first black female to appear in a national TV commercial - All laundry detergent. She was nominated four times for an Emmy, winning in 1970 for Best Supporting Actress in a Dramatic Series and four times for a Golden Globe, winning twice, 1971 & 1973, for Best Supporting Actress - Television. Fisher was seldom seen after Mannix was cancelled in 1975. Cover creased at corners, soiled and worn at edges. 3 brass fasteners at left edge. Otherwise, fine condition.
