Folds, vertical fold touches "M" in Marc. Slight separation at mid-horizontal fold. Slight nick at right edge. Chagall is scarce in letter form. Accompanied by book, unsigned, 258p, 5¼x7½, softcover. French edition of his autobiography, MA VIE (My Life), Librairie Stock, Delamain & Boutellesu, Paris: 1931. First Edition. Inscription (unknown hand) in French on first blank flyleaf. No dust jacket. Cover and pages have yellowed and show minor soiling and shading at edges. Cover is partially loose at spine, with 1-inch separations at top and bottom. Russian-born French artist Marc Chagall's autobiography, My Life, which he began writing in 1921, was first translated into French by his first wife, Bella (who died in 1944), in 1928, three years before this edition was published. Chagall learned graphic techniques to do the illustrations for this book, which was first published in English by Greenfeld in 1960. Two items.
