The Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright has filled in the date, "September 16" and year (193)"6" and place, "New York", where he signed the autograph. American dramatist Marcus Cook Connelly (1890-1981) won the Pulitzer Prize for his 1930 play, The Green Pastures. He had previously collaborated with George S. Kaufman on such plays as Dulcy (1921), To the Ladies (1922), Merton of the Movies (1922) and Beggar on Horseback (1924). Connelly published his first novel, A Souvenir from Quam, a satire of spy stories, in 1965. Lightly soiled at upper blank corners and lower edge. Fine condition.
