MARC TARDIF
All-star NHL and WHA player photographed in an 3x4¾ action shot
Photograph signed: "Marc Tardif", in green ink 3x4¾. Marc Tardif (b.1949) is a NHL and WHA player who began his professional career in 1969 with the Montreal Canadiens (1969-1973). Besides the Montreal Canadiens, Tardif has played for Los Angeles Sharks (1973-1974), the Michigan Stags and Baltimore Blades (1974-1975), and, most famously, the Quebec Nordiques (1974-1983).He participated in the 1982 NHL All Star games, was named to the WHA All Star games (1976, 1978), won two Stanley Cups with the Montreal Canadiens (1971, 1973), won the Avco Cup with the Quebec Nordiques (1976-1977), and held the WHA world record for most goals scored. He is a two-time recipient of both the WHA Bill Hunter Trophy (1975-76, 1976-78) and the WHA Gary L. Davidson Award/Gordie Howe Trophy (1975-76, 1976-78). In the NHL, he played 517 games, scoring 194 goals and aiding in 207 assists. In the WHA, he played 446 games, scoring 316 goals and aiding in 350 assists. While Tardif was a strong competitor, during the 1975-1976 playoff games with the Nordiques, Tardif suffered horrific injuries when two players from the Calgary Cowboys beat him unconscious with their hockey sticks. Tardif experienced terrible damaged to his mouth and head, risking brain trauma and paralysis. He made a slow recovery after the injury; however, remarkably, Tardif continued to play for another four years in the NHL. Photo cropped at bottom. Slightly toned. Otherwise, fine condition.
