an American comedian and actress with almost 50 movies and TV shows to her
credit. She's probably best known for her roles as Carol Kester Bondurant,
Bob Newhart's secretary on The Bob Newhart Show (1972-1977) and as
the voice of fourth-grade teacher Edna Krabappel on The Simpsons, a
role that she's had since 1990. A tough woman, she published an
autobiography in 2004 entitled Don't Look Back, We're Not Going That Way
about, among other things, her fight with breast cancer and her nervous
