Marco Antonio Barrera Tapia (born in Mexico City in 1974), who became known as "The Baby-Faced Assassin", was only 15 years of age when he defeated David Felix by a KO in round two of their November 22, 1989 fight, the first win in Barrera's 43-bout winning streak. Barrera fought for his first world title in 1995, becoming the WBO's World Super Bantamweight champion with a 12-round decision over Daniel Cobrita Jimenez. Barrera became a two-time World Featherweight Champion with his win over Richie Wenton in 1998. In 2000, Barrera fought the first of three bouts against World Super Bantamweight Champion Erik Morales. After losing in a close split decision, Barrera would defeat Morales for the title in 2002, and the fighters would meet again in November 2004.
