1996
Original Art signed: "2-96/Best to John -/from Dennis/and/God bless
you!/Marcus Hamilton", 3x5 index card. Drawn and signed in black ink, with
yellow hair and pink cheeks. Ernest Marcus Hamilton, a successful freelance
artist who had drawn for Saturday Evening Post, Golf Digest and
US News and World Report, among other publications, joined
original artist Hank Ketcham on the "Dennis the Menace" comic strip in 1993.
Ketcham retired in 1995 and died in 2001, and Hamilton - carefully tutored by
Ketcham in his technique - became the primary artist. (Another artist, Ron
Ferdinand, draws the Sunday newspaper strip.) Fine condition.
