Inscribed Photograph signed: "-Chuck-/ love,/ Mare Winningham" in black ink, b/w, 8x10. Mare Winningham (b. 1959) was the only member of the 1980s "Brat Pack" to be nominated for an Academy Award. Also a folk singer-songwriter, she made her TV debut at age 16 as a contestant on The Gong Show. Her television credits include a regular role on the TV series The Brotherhood of Poland, New Hampshire (2003), an appearance in the miniseries The Thorn Birds (1983), and guest appearances on various TV series, from Police Woman in 1978 to Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (2003). She's had recurring roles on Mad About You (1997, 1998), E.R. (1998, 1999), Grey's Anatomy (2006-2007) and Boston Legal (2007). Winningham has been seen on the big screen in such films as One Trick Pony (1980), St. Elmo's Fire (1985), Turner & Hooch (1989), and Wyatt Earp (1994). She was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in Georgia (1995), for which she also composed the song "If I Wanted".Winningham has won two Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Mini-series or movie: one for Amber Waves (1980) and the other for George Wallace (1998).
