Margaret Kerry, born Peggy Lynch in 1929, was given her stage name
by Eddie Cantor when she played his daughter in If You Knew Susie (1948),
but she had made her film debut as a child dancer in the Our Gang episode
"Teacher's Beau" (1935). She was cast again as a daughter on the very early TV
sitcom The Ruggles (1949-1952), the final episode of which was her
wedding and honeymoon. While still appearing occasionally on screen, as in two
episodes of The Andy Griffith Show, she found another valuable talent as
a voice actress on numerous animated series. Walt Disney's animators used her
as the model for "Tinkerbell" in Peter Pan (1953), drawing the
3-inch-pixie based on her performance. Later she hosted a Los Angeles-based
talk radio show, and headed the Southern California Buyers Network. Fine
condition.
