Typed Letter signed: "Marghanita Laski" 1 page, 5x8. Hampstead, [England], 1953 February 11. On Capo di Monte letterhead, written to "Dear Mr. Scerri Owen", in full: "Thank you for your letter of Feb:2nd. I'm afraid I haven't a photograph of myself I can give you, as I very seldom bother to be taken, but I hope you will acept (sic) the signature on this letter instead. I am well repaid for it by the stamp on your letter, which my small son was delighted to add to his collection." British journalist and playwright Marghanita Laski (1915-1988) was born in London, England. A contributor to the Oxford English Dictionary and critic for The Observer, she was Vice Chairman of the Arts Council of Great Britain. A popular panelist on radio and television programs like What's My Line, The Brains Trust and Any Questions?, Lanski wrote several novels and plays, including Little Boy Lost (1949), The Village (1952), The Victorian Chaise-Longue (1953) and The Offshore Island (1959).
