The actress known for her partnership with Lippert Productions signed this card in blue

Signature: “Margia Dean” in blue ink on a 5x3 index card. Margia Dean (b. 1922) is the
daughter of Greek immigrants. Born in Chicago, her family moved to California and got her
start in entertainment as a beauty contestant. She was named Miss San Francisco and Miss
California in 1939; at the Miss America pageant, she won the talent component of the
competition by reciting Shakespeare, but was named a runner-up. Five years later, she
began her film career, which culminated in starring roles in The Quatermass Xperiment
(1955) and Ambush at Cimarron Pass (1958). She appeared in half of Lippert Pictures'
films, which gave her consistent work but largely limited her career to B-movies. She made
appearances in television shows such as Dick Tracy (1950) as well. Name in unknown hand
on verso. Otherwise, fine condition.
