Margot Grahame (1911-1982) made her London stage debut in 1930 and her
film debut in 1930, becoming the highest paid English actress of the
1930s before signing a Hollywood contract with RKO. She played a prostitute
in John Ford's The Informer (1935) and Milady de Winter in
The Three Musketeers that same year. Among her many other films
were The Buccaneer (1938) and Broken Journey (1948).
She retired from the screen in 1958. Saul Goodman (1919-2003), a New York
business man by day, pursued his love of film and theatre in the evening, making
friends with many celebrities. While other autograph seekers offered album
leaves, Goodman presented stars with snazzy photographs, a rarity then, to sign
in fountain pen. Corners creased. Edges lightly toned. Mounting residue and
ink stamp on verso. Otherwise, fine condition.
