MARGUERITE CHAPMANThe actress signs a letter, stating that she cannot send a signed photo as they are collector items, and must be paid for Autograph letter signed: "Marguerite", in black ink, 1 page, 5½x8½. In full: "Dear Dave, Thank you for your Xmas card. Sorry we have to charge for photos, they are collectors' items, casting and mailing etc. [illegible] is very time consuming - all below 8x10 wh. Glossys- 1940's + 1950's 5 ea 3 for 12.50 (varied) - Brand new 1985 photos 20 ea, World War II "pinups" new photos 10 ea". Marguerite Chapman (1918-1999, born in Chatham, New York) entered films in 1936, playing the (often) secondary star in many films of the 1940s and 1950s. Examples of her work include the serial Spycatcher (1942), Relentless (1948) and Bloodhounds of Broadway (1952). Afrequent guest on TV programs of the 1950s, she reappeared in the mid-1970s for spots on Hawaii Five-0 and Barnaby Jones. Light surface creases. Corners slightly worn. Fine condition.
