MARGUERITE WILKINSON
Wilkinson handwrote, dated and signed this letter in 1926 on paper embossed
with her name and New York City address. She wrote it to a Miss Gates, agreeing
to a date for an upcoming talk.
1 page, 8¼x11, with Wilkinson's name and New York City address embossed near
upper left corner. March 7, 1926. Addressed to "Miss Gates". In
full: "My dear Miss Gates:- Yes the tenth will be an excellent date for
me. Write me what kind of a talk you want. It will be [illegible] to see you
again. Will the talk be in the evening? Cordially". Wilkinson
(1883-1928, born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada) was a poet who published
two volumes of poetry, In Vivid Gardens (1911) and Bluestone
(1920). She also wrote New Voices, a series of essays on contemporary
verse. Lightly toned and creased. Torn at top edge and near all corners, with a
small piece torn out of the top left corner. Rounded corners. Folded in quarters
and unfolded. Torn along folds at top and left edges. Otherwise in fine
condition.
