Signature: "Maria Riva", 4½x3 card. 1½x2¾ color magazine photo affixed at left edge (two surfaces). Maria Riva (born Maria Sieber in Berlin in 1930), moved to the US with her mother, Marlene Dietrich, in 1930. In 1936 she played the youthful Empress Catherine in The Scarlet Empress, starring her mother. She appeared frequently on American television playhouses and variety shows of the 1950s, notching Emmy nominations for episodes of Suspense (1952) and Studio One (1953). She was married to TV and theater set designer William Rivas from 1947 until his death in 1999. In 1994 she published a memoir of her life with her late mother, and she edited a volume of Dietrich's poetry for publication in Germany (2005). ¾ crease at top left corner. "To Roy" is written (unknown hand) and significantly faded above signature. Corners slightly worn. Otherwise, fine condition.
