MARIA SHRIVER
Black and white publicity photograph of Maria Shriver facing sideways with her collar turned up
Photograph inscribed and signed: "To/Gene,/thanks for/your note/good luck/Maria/Shriver". B/w, 7x9. Maria Shriver (born 1955) is an award-winning journalist, author and First Lady of California. In September 1983, Shriver began reporting for CBS News and soon won a spot as co-anchor of the CBS Morning News. In 1990, she began hosting a series of news specials entitled First Person with Maria Shriver. Since then she has conducted numerous notable interviews including spots with Fidel Castro, Ted Turner, Magic Johnson and Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York. Although she has scaled down her role at NBC in order to spend more time with her family, she remains a contributing anchor for Dateline and a contributing correspondent for MSNBC. She is also the author of a successful series of children's books. In 2003, she took a leave of absence from her post at NBC while her husband, actor Arnold Schwarzenegger, campaigned successfully for governor of California. Maria Shriver is no stranger to politics. She is the daughter of President Kennedy's sister Eunice Shriver and of the Democratic Party's 1972 Vice Presidential nominee, Sargent Shriver. Fine condition.
