Script for the television series, Simon & Simon.This episode, "Murder by the Book", written by Mike Lloyd Ross, featured Windsor as Wanda. Noted to be "Prod. #57514, 10/22/82 (F.R.)" Filmed at Universal City Studios, Inc. Signed circa 1984. Pencil markings by "Wanda's" lines, likely in Windsor's hand.Ink note in Windsor's hand on verso of one of the pages. Lightly creased. Front cover is lightly soiled, nicked at blank right edge, back cover is lightly soiled. Tape remnants at blank right margins of 6 pages. Otherwise, fine condition. Accompanied by original mailing envelope, addressed by Windsor to: "Mr. Todd M. Axelrod, The Museum of Historical Documents, 520 S. 4th St., Las Vegas, Nev. 89010". Postmarked Beverly Hills, California, November 13, 1984. Five different stamps affixed. Lightly creased. Vertical fold touches 1 word of writing. Slightly soiled. Neatly opened at blank left edge. Otherwise, fine condition. This episode, re-titled "Murder Between the Lines", aired on January 6, 1983.It was Windsor's first appearance on the show, which ran from 1981-1988 and starred Gerald McRaney as Rick Simon and Jameson Parker as Andrew Jackson "A.J." Simon. Despite the fact that her character, "Wanda", was killed off, Windsor was later seen in different roles on Simon & Simon in 1984 and 1987. Although Marie Windsor (1919-2000), born Emily Marie Bertelsen, said her favorite films were Hellfire (1949), The Narrow Margin (1952), and The Killing (1956), the actress and expert horsewoman is best known for her roles in "B" Westerns in the 1940s. Her long list of feature films includes Song of the Thin Man (1947, her first featured role), The Fighting Kentuckian (1949), The Eddie Cantor Story (1953), Abbott and Costello Meet the Mummy (1955), Cahill U.S. Marshall (1973), and Freaky Friday (1976). Windsor also appeared in a long list of TV series from 1952 (The Unexpected) to 1991 (Murder, She Wrote), making repeat guest-starring visits to such shows as Hawaiian Eye, Perry Mason, Adam-12, and Simon & Simon. Windsor, who served as adirector of the Screen Actors Guild for 25 years, died the day before her 81st birthday. Two items.
