Marion Mack (1902-1989), born Joey Marion McCreery, began her career in
show business as a Mack Sennet Bathing Girl before progressing to roles
in two-reelers and serials. Also a talented screenwriter, she wrote and
starred in Mary of the Movies in 1923. The following year, Mack
married producer Lewis Lewyn, her husband until his death in 1969.
Mack played heroine Annabelle Lee in Keaton's classic Civil War comedy-drama.
However, she found location filming so arduous that she quit acting
after The General, turning her talents to script
writing. One of her movie scripts became Keaton's movie Streamlined
Swing (1938).In the 1970s and 1980s, after there was a revival in
interest in The General, she toured and lectured about her 6 months
working on the film and with Buster Keaton. Fold in center. Printing defects
from copying. Fine condition.
