MARION MARTIN and ALICE FAYE
Extremely rare, handwritten sentiment from actress Marion Martin. Also signed by actress Alice Faye. Very rare!
Autograph Sentiment signed: "Good Luck/Marion Martin", and "Alice Faye", 5x4¼. Small photographs of Martin and Faye attached. Prolific actressMarion Marin (1909-1985) was most known for minor roles in films such as Boom Town (1940), Angel on My Shoulder (1946) and The Great Awakening (1941). Debuting on Broadway in 1927 in Lombardi, Ltd., Martin performed in two other Broadway shows (Sweet Adeline, George White's Scandals) before she landed her first major screen role in Sinners in Paradise (1938). With her big blonde curls and curvaceous silhouette, Martin typically was casted as a showgirl or night club dame. Throughout the 1940's Martin consistently acted in films, however, she was rarely given a leading role, and after 1952 she officially retired. In 1960, in appreciation of her acting in over 90 films, Martin was honored a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Because of her rare appearances as a leading actress, Martin's signature is extremely rare. Alice Faye (1915-1998) was a chorus girl who rose to movie stardom in such films as In Old Chicago (1938), Rose of Washington Square (1939) and Tin Pan Alley (1940). She also co-starred with husband Phil Harris in a popular radio comedy series. Semi-retired thereafter, Faye remained popular on TV and in nightclub appearances. Creased and toned. Small tear in top right corner. Adhesive tape at lower margin. Otherwise, fine condition.
