Rambeau handwrote, signed and dated this letter in 1967 to Harry Rintone on
her personalized stationery to thank him for a letter and apologize for not
responding sooner.
Autograph letter signed "Marjorie Rambeau" in blue ink. 1 page, 6x6¾,
on Rambeau's personalized stationery. Nov. 6, 1967. Addressed to Harry
Rintone. In full: "Dear Harry Rintone I have been too ill to attend to
this before so do please forgive this delay - To receiveyour thoughtful letter I immediatelyfeel better to
know that I also remembered from someone so far away - Bless you -
Sincerely". Rambeau (1889-1970, born in San Francisco, California)
had starred on Broadway and a few silent films, but she is best remembered
for her eccentric character roles in talkies. She was nominated twice for
Oscars: (Primrose Path, 1940; and Torch Song (1953). She
starred in the title role of Tugboat Annie Sails Again (1940), which
featured a screen romance between Ronald Reagan and Jane Wyman in the year of
their real life marriage. Lightly toned and creased. Lightly rounded corners.
Folded once and unfolded. Otherwise in fine condition.
