ice, size, 5¾x8¾
Newspaper Photograph Signed: "Mark Hady," in black felt tip
pen. B/w 5¾x8¾. Photograph affixed to cardstock. Mark Hardy (b. 1959)
played in the NHL for fifteen seasons with the New York Rangers, Los Angeles
Kings, and Minnesota North Stars. Drafted in 1979, Hardy's career began with
the Kings, where he had a very successful career, hardly missing more than a few
games each season. In 1987 Hardy became a free agent and played with the New
York Rangers and the Minnesota North Stars. In 1989 the New York Rangers
signed him exclusively to their team, where he played for the next five seasons.
Hady became a free agent again in 1992 and finished his NHL career with his
original team, the Kings, retiring from the league in 1994. Five years after his
retirement, Hardy became assistant coach for the Kings and the Chicago
Blackhawks; however in 2010 Hardy was suspected of lewd conduct and resigned
from his position. After the indiscretion was cleared, Hardy returned to
coaching, assisting the King's minor club team the Ontario Reign in 2011.
In the NHL, Hardy played 915 games, earning 62 goals and 306 assists. Photo
irregularly cropped at left bottom edge. Ink note on verso, hand unknown. Edges
lightly worn. Lightly toned. Otherwise, fine condition.
