Inscribed photograph signed "For Al-/Thank you-/Martha Hyer" in blue ink. B/w, 10x8 overall, 9¼x7¼ image, one surface. Martha Hyer (1924-2014) made her first film, Thunder Mountain, in 1947. She earned an Oscar nomination as a teacher smitten with Frank Sinatra in Some Came Running (1958). Other prominent roles included Battle Hymn (1956) and The Carpetbaggers (1964). She made many TV appearances, including multiple episodes of Alfred Hitchcock Presents. She was also a screenwriter on Rooster Cogburn (1975), the last film produced by Hal Wallis (to whom she was married from 1966 until his death in 1986). Lightly toned, cracked creased and bowed. Light chipping and tear in left edge. Rough right edge. Negative and reproduction errors in image. Otherwise in fine condition.
