Newspaper article signed "Bless you/Martha Raye". 6¾x6¾ article with b/w 3x5¼ photo of Raye. She has signed on a 3¼x5½, b/w photo. Captioned: "Martha Raye will co-star with Helen O'Connell, Kay Starr and Rosemary Clooney in 'The New Four Girls' at the Royal Poinciana Playhouse". A four-part, concert-type show, The New Four Girls is a continuation of a show successful a few years prior. Clooney and O'Connell appeared in it along with Rose Marie and Margaret Whiting. Singer, actress and comedienne Raye (1916-1994, born in Butte, Montana) made her Broadway debut in 1934 and her first film in 1936. She had her own TV show (1953-1954) and many guest appearances. A tireless performer for American troops in three wars, billing herself as "Colonel Maggie", she was honored with the Academy of MotionPictures' Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award (1968) and the Presidential Medal of Freedom (1993). She was buried in the military cemetery at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Lightly toned. 2 pinhead-size holes at lower blank margin. Irregular top and left edges. Folded once vertically.
