MARTHA AND THE VANDELLAS: MARTHA REEVES and LOIS REEVES. Guitar signed: "Heat Wave/Rock & RollHall/of Fame '95/Martha Reeves" and "My Baby/Loves Me/Rock & Roll/Hall of Fame/Lois/Vandellas". Wood-grained, six-string acoustic guitar, signed on the body in blue felt tip. Accompanied by unsigned photo (color, 8x10) of Martha and Lois Reeves holding the guitar after signing it. (Protective covering on guitar in photo makes it appear white.) Martha Reeves and the Vandellas were popular Motown recording artists from 1963, second only to The Supremes in popularity. Their biggest hits included "Heat Wave", "Nowhere to Run" and "Dancing in the Street." Martha Reeves was founder and lead singer of the group. Her younger sister, Sandra Deloris "Lois" Reeves, joined in 1967. Martha Reeves went solo in the 1970s, with less success. Thereafter the group reunited and has remained very popular on the nostaligia circuit. (Reeves claims in her autobiography, Dancing in the Street, that her group would have equaled the Supremes in popularity if promoted as aggressively by Motown Records.) Fine condition. Previously authenticated by PSA/DNA and Roger Epperson.
